Curvay draws with a virtual pen whose movement is controlled by a pair of waves. One wave (shown in blue below) travels along a horizontal line, causing the pen’s vertical position to follow its peaks and valleys. Similarly, the other wave (shown in red) travels along a vertical line and controls the pen’s horizontal position. In this manner, a pair of periodic (i.e. repeating) waves generates a pattern.
