Curvay User’s Guide: Table of Contents

Introduction

Curvay explores a family of abstract patterns, generated by a common technique. As is often the case, the depth of exploration depends on the explorer’s age, knowledge and interest. At the most elementary level, the exploration might consist of watching a pattern being drawn, observing the resulting shapes and symmetries and perhaps coloring the pattern to highlight interesting features. Curvay makes such exploration accessible to children as young a 5 years old. Advanced exploration might include studying the mathematical underpinnings of the patterns, specifying new patterns in mathematical terms and gaining insight into waveform modulation techniques. This broad range of possibilities leaves room for curious minds of any age to enjoy Curvay.
