The wave editor includes a pair of trees that display graphical representations of the equations that define the waves. The upper tree, color coded red, specifies a wave that travels along the vertical (y) axis, while the lower tree, color coded blue, specifies a wave that travels along the horizontal (x) axis.
Each tree node represents a basic wave, a wave parameter or a wave combination. The basic wave types are sinusoidal, triangular, square and constant. The wave parameters are amplitude, offset, frequency and phase. Finally, the wave combinations are sums and products of waves. The tree nodes can be modified using the row of edit controls just above each tree, context menus or, in the case of constants, direct editing.
